Oasis Group Homes
The two Group Homes (in Ruyterwacht and Kenwyn) provide a caring home environment for 42 adults with intellectual disability, all of whom are employed at the Oasis workshops.
Many families of intellectually disabled people face the prospect of securing the future care of their family member with intellectual disability. Oasis meets that need and provides supervised and secure group living accommodation for:
- intellectually disabled people who are now 18 and would like to live independently
- those with no fixed abode or
- those with unsuitable home circumstances
A homely family environment and access to social work and primary health care services is provided for residents. They enjoy their own hobbies or activities of interest, participate in chores and are taken on social outings.
For admission, potential residents should be able to work in the protective workshops, and must also be capable of helping themselves with minimum supervision.
